What you’ll do
Lead Our India Expansion as a Business Development Manager & Resident Director (Consultant Role) in E-Commerce!

Earn up to 8.3 lakhs annually with a competitive retainer, performance bonuses, and growth incentives!

Location: Ahmedabad preferred; open to other Indian locations. Remote work within India with occasional domestic travel.
Contract Term: Initial 12 months consultant contract (renewable based on performance); with potential conversion to permanent role in 12 months.

Your Role

This dual position blends hands-on business development with essential statutory leadership:

Business Development (Commercial Lead): Source, negotiate, and onboard hair/beauty suppliers (100-250 SKUs each) with profitable pricing models.
Resident Director (Compliance): Act as our India statutory lead under the Companies Actno investment needed, with complete legal protection.

What You’ll Do

Forge Strategic Partnerships: Scout manufacturers/distributors for drop-shipping deals, negotiating pricing, SLAs, and returns to ensure customer satisfaction.
Drive Profitable Growth: Develop per-SKU pricing and margin models, targeting >20% margins to cover platform, marketing, and operational costs.
Optimize Operations: Collaborate with delivery partners like India Post to streamline logistics and ensure 85%+ on-time fulfillment.
Scale Our Platform: Onboard 4–5 suppliers with 100–250 SKUs each within 60 days, listing them live on our e-commerce site.
Ensure Compliance: Act as resident director, supporting company incorporation and statutory filings while coordinating with legal advisors.
Report & Strategize: Deliver weekly (summary) /monthly (detailed) reports, insights on suppliers, SKUs, margins, and Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), plus business cases for scaling.

First 60 Days – Hit the Ground Running!

Days 0–20: Assess the market and shortlist 10–15 high-potential suppliers.
Days 20–45: Negotiate with 5+ suppliers, deliver a margin model, and initiate resident director paperwork.
Days 45–60: Onboard 4–5 suppliers with 100–250 SKUs each, validated live on our platform.

Who You Are

5+ years in business development within hair & beauty, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical/healthcare distribution, with a focus on supplier negotiations.
Proven experience in e-commerce or drop-shipping, including sourcing and onboarding suppliers.
Strong network with Indian suppliers, distributors, or salons.
Skilled negotiator with a data-driven approach to pricing and margins.
Comfortable serving as resident director for compliance (no financial liability).
Fluent in English; Gujarati/Hindi skills a plus.
Bonus: Familiarity with marketplaces, multi-channel e-commerce, or Indian corporate compliance.

Compensation & Benefits

Retainer: 45,000–60,000/month (paid via Wise), based on experience.
Total Rewards Package (Year 1): 6.2L – 8.3L p.a. including performance bonuses (up to 15%)
Bonus Milestones: 5%, 10%, 15% linked to supplier onboarding, fulfillment, and profitability.
Renewal: 5–10% retainer increase in Year 2 + eligibility for profit share/phantom equity.
Other: Remote work, reimbursed travel, legal indemnity as Resident Director.
