Location: MIT ADT University, Rajbaugh, Loni Kalbhor, Pune, Maharashtra – 412201

Position Summary

The School of Food Technology is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Professor to strengthen its academic and research programs. The incumbent will be responsible for teaching diverse courses in Food Technology at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supporting with the research program, and contributing to the overall academic administration of the school. This is a critical faculty role requiring a blend of pedagogical excellence, significant research productivity, and a minimum of five years of teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor will be expected to perform a range of duties, including:

1. Teaching and Instruction:

Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and seminars for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Food Technology.
Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and laboratory manuals to maintain academic rigor and relevance.
Mentor and supervise student projects, dissertations, and internships.
Evaluate student performance through various assessment methods.

2. Research and Scholarly Activity:

Support and maintain an active research program in an area of Food Technology (e.g., Food Processing, Food Safety, Food Preservation, Nutritional Sciences, Food Quality Control).
Apply for and secure external research grants and funding.
Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed national and international journals.
Guide Ph.D. students (once eligible).

3. Administrative and Institutional Service:

Participate in school / university committees, curriculum development, and accreditation processes.
Contribute to the school’s outreach activities, industry collaborations, and consultancy projects.
Actively engage in professional development activities, including attending conferences, workshops, and faculty development programs.
Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: Masters and Ph.D. degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Food Science, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university / institution. NET / SET preferable.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant teaching / research / industry at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent.

Research Output: A good record of scholarly publications in reputed journals and presentations at national / international conferences is preferable.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant laboratory techniques, modern food processing equipment, and software applications related to Food Technology.

Desirable Attributes

Experience in Industry-Academia collaborations or consultancy projects.
Ability to attract and manage sponsored research projects.
Prior experience with NAAC / NBA accreditation processes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
Commitment to student welfare and academic excellence.
