What you’ll do
A Purchase Engineer in a special purpose machinery manufacturing company plays a crucial role in procuring materials, equipment, and services necessary for production. Here’s a comprehensive job description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing and Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, components, equipment, and services required for special purpose machinery manufacturing.
2. Tendering and Quotations: Prepare and analyze tenders, requests for quotation (RFQs), and requests for proposal (RFPs) to ensure best value for the company.
3. Technical Evaluation: Assess technical specifications, quality, and compatibility of purchased items with manufacturing requirements.
4. Negotiation and Contracting: Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contractual conditions with suppliers.
5. Supply Chain Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensure timely delivery, and resolve supply chain issues.
6. Cost Reduction: Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize procurement processes.
7. Quality Control: Ensure purchased items meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications.
8. Inventory Management: Collaborate with production planning and inventory teams to ensure optimal stock levels.
9. Documentation and Record-Keeping*: Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
10. Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Technical Requirements:
1. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, Automation and/or software engineering principles.
2. Familiarity with special purpose machinery manufacturing processes.
3. Understanding of technical specifications, blueprints, and CAD designs.
4. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.

5. Proficiency in Excel and MS office

Education and Experience: *
1. Should be B Tech in Mechanical Engineering /Electrical Engineering/ Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
2. 5-10 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
3. Relevant experience in manufacturing, especially in special purpose machinery, is desirable.

Hands on experience in ERP Next will be an added advantage.
Candidates who can join in less than two weeks are preferred.
