Associate Director – Business Development (AdSales)
Job Description Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to build and scale our Ad Sales and Data Monetisation business. This is a high-impact, revenue-focused role where you’ll define the strategy, set up the ecosystem, and lead execution to unlock new revenue streams across ads, brand partnerships, and first-party data.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in digital media sales, programmatic advertising, and commercial strategy—along with a deep understanding of how to create monetisable touchpoints across digital customer journeys.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ad Sales & Media Monetisation
Define and execute the end-to-end monetisation strategy for IndiGo’s digital assets (website, app, email, and more). Identify and develop native and display ad inventory opportunities and build compelling media packages for brands and agencies. Set pricing, yield optimization, and measurement frameworks. Build an in-house sales motion and/or partner with media agencies and ad networks to scale reach and revenue. 2. Data Monetisation & Commercialisation
Build a product and sales model to monetise IndiGo’s rich first-party audience and behavioral data. Collaborate with legal, tech, and analytics teams to enable privacy-safe audience targeting, insights reporting, and custom brand solutions. Evaluate and deploy tools like CDPs, clean rooms, and data onboarding partnerships. 3. Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
Forge strategic alliances with brands, advertisers, and martech platforms. Identify emerging monetisation models and pilot new revenue-generating formats. Act as the commercial voice in cross-functional product builds and customer journey optimizations. 4. Revenue Ownership & Business Leadership
Own topline and margin targets for the Ads and Data Monetisation P&L. Drive forecasting, performance reviews, and sales rigor across the function. Work with senior leadership to report on progress and identify acceleration levers. Experience & Qualification Required
12–18 years of experience in digital media sales, adtech, or platform monetisation (e-commerce, OTT, OTA, or digital publishing). Demonstrated success in setting up and scaling high-performing ad sales or data monetisation teams. Hands-on knowledge of ad platforms (GAM, DV360, programmatic tools), analytics (GA, Adobe), and data tech stacks (DMPs, CDPs). Exceptional commercial and strategic acumen with a strong execution mindset. Excellent relationship-building, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills. MBA preferred.
