What you’ll do
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to lead our payroll function for two business entities for all employee categories i.e. On-Rolls, Off-Rolls, Contractual, and Consultants. The Lead Payroll will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, maintaining accurate records, creating dashboards and driving process improvements. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of payroll systems, deep SAP operational knowledge and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage monthly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including PF, ESI, PT, Income Tax, and other labour laws.
3. Maintain and update payroll systems and employee records.
4. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
5. Handle payroll audits and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
6. Resolve employee queries related to salary, deductions, and tax matters.
7. Prepare and present payroll reports and dashboards for management review.
8. Drive automation and process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
9. Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and ensure timely implementation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Commerce / Economics / Statistics / Finance, or related field (MBA/PG preferred).
1215 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a mid-to-large sized organization (more than 2000 employees)
Strong knowledge of Indian payroll regulations and statutory compliance. A certification in the field will be an added advantage
Experience with payroll software (e.g., SAP, ADP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in MS Excel (Advanced), SPSS and data analysis.
Exposure to Indian Personal Tax Law and its application
Exposure to manage payroll for Foreign Nationals
