What you’ll do
Responsibilities:

Jd for Logistic head odisa.

Only steel/iron/Aluminium/TMT candidate is eligible.

Manage freight, rail & road projects
Optimize costs through vendor management & export import doc prep
Lead logistics strategy for cold rolling mill operations
Oversee shipping ops & export import documentation.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation logistics for cold rolling steel products, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Transportation Management: Oversee the transportation of cold rolling steel via rail and road networks, coordinating with carriers and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to safety standards.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with transportation vendors, negotiating contracts, rates, and terms to achieve competitive pricing and service level agreements.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards, implementing best practices to minimize risks and enhance operational safety.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor transportation performance metrics such as on-time delivery, cost per ton-mile, and transport utilization rates, taking proactive measures to address any deviations from targets.
Inventory Control: Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize inventory levels and storage locations, ensuring alignment with transportation capabilities.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve transportation processes and procedures, leveraging technology and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the transportation budget, monitoring expenditures and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, sales, and procurement teams to align transportation activities with overall business objectives and customer requirements.
Rail /Road /Export Import Management: Strong knowledge of the process of import / export and documentation.
Key Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Proven experience (15+years) in logistics operations management within the steel industry, with specific expertise in cold rolling steel transportation via rail and road.
Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), logistics software, and ERP systems. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with a track record of leading teams and driving operational excellence.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships and negotiating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Qualification : Graduate with PG Diploma in Export Import Managment
