What you’ll do
Role & responsibilities
Payroll Management:
Handle end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain payroll records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation.
Coordinate with HR and Finance for accurate data collection (attendance, leaves, incentives, bonuses, etc.).
Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, deductions (PF, ESI, TDS, professional tax), and reimbursements.
Oversee payroll audits and reporting.
Statutory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and statutory requirements, including: Shops & Establishment Act, Minimum wages act, payment of wages act etc.
Liaise with government authorities and handle inspections, audits, and queries.
Submit timely returns and challans to statutory bodies.
Keep abreast of changes in labor laws and ensure timely implementation in the organization.
Documentation & MIS:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and compliance documentation.
Prepare and submit compliance reports and MIS as required by management.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee data.
Advisory & Policy Implementation:
Advise management on compliance risks and labor law changes.
Assist in drafting and implementing HR policies in line with statutory requirements.
Key Requirements:
Bachelors degree in any stream, HR, or a related field. MBA (HR/Finance) is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll and statutory compliance
Strong command of Indian Labor Laws and statutory obligations.
Hands-on experience with payroll software and HRMS
Excellent attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in handling payroll for multi-state operations.
Exposure to labor law audits and inspections.
Certification in Labor Law or Payroll Management is an added advantage.
