What you’ll do

This role is primarily focused on product development, but with a strong emphasis on providing technical leadership and deep expertise during early-stage POC engagements. The employee will work closely with IBM technical sales teams—who lead the customer-facing mission—to ensure that prospects receive the configuration support, troubleshooting guidance, and product insight needed to get started smoothly and confidently.
From the development team’s perspective, this role serves as the technical anchor during these engagements.
In addition to supporting POCs, the selected candidate contributes directly to the evolution of DRz, developing new features and strengthening its integration with emerging technologies, including machine learning.

Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to feature development, particularly around ML integration and runtime enhancements
* Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for customer POCs and onboarding efforts
* Act as the primary technical contact from the development team during early customer engagements
* Ensure DRz is configured and demonstrated effectively in competitive and evaluation scenarios

Required education
Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred education
Master’s Degree

Required technical and professional expertise
Strong working knowledge of the z/OS platform, including
SMPE packaging and installation
ISPF, SDSF, USS (via SSH), JCL, and dataset management
Experience with C, COBOL, PL/I, and PL/X programming
Excellent communication and documentation skills for cross-site collaboration

Preferred technical and professional experience
Familiarity with business rules engines or decision automation
Java programming experience, especially in hybrid or embedded environments
Experience supporting or executing customer POCs in enterprise environments
