Job Title: Senior Database Developer (Oracle & MS SQL Server Migration)
Location: Onsite Airoli , Navi Mumbai
Employment Type: Full Time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Database Developer with strong expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and migrating database solutions as part of a large-scale database modernization and migration project.

This role requires solid experience in database programming (PL/SQL, T-SQL), schema design, and data migration techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain database objects (tables, views, procedures, functions, triggers) in Oracle and SQL Server.
Participate in end-to-end database migration projects — assessment, conversion, testing, and deployment.
Use tools such as SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA), Oracle Data Pump, and ETL utilities for schema and data migration.
Analyze existing database structures and recommend improvements or conversion strategies.
Optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and stored procedures for performance and scalability.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality during migration and post-migration phases.
Collaborate with application developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth migration and integration.
Develop automation scripts for recurring migration or data transformation tasks.
Prepare technical documentation and provide post-migration support and validation.
Required Skills & Qualifications

6+ years of professional experience as a Database Developer.
Strong expertise in Oracle (PL/SQL) and MS SQL Server (T-SQL).
Proven experience in database migration between Oracle and SQL Server.
In-depth understanding of schema design, constraints, indexes, and query optimization.
Hands-on experience with migration tools like:
SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA)
Oracle Data Pump (expdp/impdp)
BCP / BULK INSERT
Experience working with ETL pipelines and data validation post-migration.
Knowledge of performance tuning and execution plan analysis.
Familiarity with version control (Git) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Shell) for automation.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have

Experience with Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or cloud migration projects.
Exposure to data warehousing or BI tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Power BI).
Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, or containerization concepts.
Certifications like Microsoft Certified: SQL Database Developer or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
