Job description
What you’ll do
Prepare and file direct tax returns (corporate income tax, TDS, etc.) for the manufacturing entity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Ensure compliance with all direct tax laws and regulations applicable to the manufacturing sector, including Income Tax Act, Transfer Pricing, and related provisions.
Manage tax audits and assessments, coordinate with plant finance teams to gather necessary documentation, and respond to queries from tax authorities.
Analyse tax implications of capital expenditures, depreciation, production incentives, and subsidies specific to manufacturing operations.
Support tax planning for manufacturing operations, including optimization of tax incentives (such as SEZ, EOU, or state-specific benefits).
Prepare and review Tax Audit Reports, Transfer Pricing documentation, and ensure compliance with Master File/CBCR requirements.
Advise on TDS applicability on vendor payments, contract labour, and capital goods purchases, and ensure correct withholding and remittance.
Liaise with external advisors and auditors for sector-specific direct tax matters.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records for all direct tax-related transactions, including plant-level activities.
Monitor changes in direct tax laws and manufacturing sector incentives and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
Support financial statement preparation with a focus on tax provisioning, deferred tax calculations, and reconciliation of tax accounts.
