This senior leadership role is ideal for an accomplished accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting mission-driven organisations with high-quality financial and strategic services. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Oversight Lead and mentor a team of U.S.-based and international accounting professionals. Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure timely, accurate delivery of financial reports and services. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Manage workload distribution, performance evaluation, and professional development initiatives. Client Engagement Serve as the primary relationship manager for key nonprofit clients. Understand each clients mission, funding model, and operational goals to tailor financial solutions accordingly. Provide strategic financial insights and advisory support to client leadership teams and boards. Ensure exceptional client satisfaction through proactive communication and problem-solving. Technical Expertise Supervise and review financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and grant or donor reporting. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards, including fund and grant accounting. Guide clients on best practices in financial management, internal controls, and reporting processes. Leverage accounting technology to streamline workflows and deliver greater accuracy and efficiency. Systems & Tools Lead the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of accounting systems such as Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online (QBO). Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain data integrity and improve process efficiency. Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance team productivity and client experience. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership or management role. Expertise: Strong background in nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and financial reporting. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online (QBO) required. Team Management: Proven experience managing remote and cross-border teams. Certification: CPA preferred but not required. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and client service capabilities. Work Ethic: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in outsourced accounting or public accounting firm environments. Familiarity with grant compliance, fund accounting, and donor reporting requirements.
