What you’ll do
What You’ll Do As our head of Solar Engineering you will be responsible for developing accurate, efficient, and compliant designs for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects. You will collaborate across teams to ensure high-quality engineering outputs and seamless project execution.

Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:

Overseeing Engineering at SafEarth

Lead the team to develop best in class solar PV system designs using tools like PVsyst, AutoCAD, and SketchUp
Oversee energy yield simulations, load analysis, and shading analysis to ensure accurate performance predictions
Approve and guide the preparation of electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and detailed layouts
Define, standardize, and continuously optimize engineering practices to deliver high-performance, cost-effective solar plants

Engineering & Compliance

Ensure all designs and installations comply with DISCOM regulations, electrical codes, and global safety standards
Establish review mechanisms to validate design accuracy, compliance, and on-site implementation
Drive optimization strategies to maximize energy generation, plant reliability, and lifecycle performance
Oversee the preparation and approval of bills of materials (BOMs) and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs)

Collaboration & Support

Provide technical inputs during client discussions and proposal development Support site teams with design clarifications during installation and commissioning
Collaborate with sales, operations, and procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution

Innovation & Improvement

Stay at the forefront of solar technologies, hybrid/ESS solutions, and digital design tools
Build processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness of engineering workflows
Establish best practices that scale across multiple geographies and project sizes

Must-Haves

5+ years of solar PV design engineering experience for C&I solar projects, including rooftop solar and Ground Mounted Systems.
Strong knowledge of solar system design, energy yield assessment, and industry best practices
Proficiency in PVsyst,, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and MS Excel
Degree/ in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Bonus If You Have:

Experience in utility-scale solar projects
Knowledge of energy storage systems and hybrid designs
Familiarity with advanced simulation tools or digital twins
