What you’ll do
Role & responsibilities

He/She will be responsible for managing all tax-related aspects for the company, including developing tax strategies, ensuring compliance with laws, overseeing tax audits, and providing tax planning advice. Key tasks include tax research, preparing and reviewing tax returns, identifying savings opportunities, efficient handling of assessments, audits, litigations and tax advisory support to business. Advising on complex international tax issues, including transfer pricing and cross-border transactions. This role requires extensive experience in direct and indirect taxation, statutory compliance, and corporate finance.

A. Direct Taxation

Manage all direct tax matters including computation, payment of advance tax, and filing of returns within prescribed timelines. Ensure compliance with all provisions of the Income Tax Act.
Review tax provisions and deferred tax workings for quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Liaise with statutory auditors, tax auditors, and consultants for tax audit requirements.
Handle tax assessments, appeals, and other proceedings before tax authorities. Support management in corporate tax planning, inter-company transactions, and transfer pricing documentation.
B. Indirect Taxation

Oversee compliance under GST laws, including registration, returns, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
Ensure correct classification of goods and services, tax rate application, and timely input tax credits.
Manage E-way bills, vendor compliance tracking, and reconciliation with GSTR-2A/2B.
Handle departmental audits, assessments, and notices under GST or other indirect tax regulations.
Monitor tax implications on procurement, subcontracting, and interstate movement of goods and services under various EPC projects.
C. International Tax Compliance and Reporting

Oversee the international tax planning and compliance processes, including reviewing and approving filings and disclosures.
Identify opportunities for tax incentives, credits, and savings in various international jurisdictions.
Manage transfer pricing policies and ensure all cross-border intercompany transactions are compliant with local and international rules.
Monitor and interpret changes in international tax laws and regulations, including evolving standards like and assess their impact on the company.
Manage the tax provision process for financial reporting (e.g., ASC 740, IFRS).
D. Strategic & Advisory Role

Provide tax advisory support to business and project teams during bidding, contracting, and project execution stages to ensure tax-efficient structuring.
Keep management informed of significant amendments, circulars, and judicial pronouncements impacting business operations. Identify and implement process improvements and automation for efficient tax compliance management.

Preferred candidate profile

Chartered Accountant (CA) with advanced certification or specialization in taxation preferred.

12 to 15 years of post-qualification experience in managing all aspects of tax within an EPC organization.

Expertise in relevant domestic tax laws and international tax treaties. Strong knowledge of international tax compliance and reporting frameworks.
