What you’ll do
SRE Engineer | 5-12 Years | Mumbai & Bangalore

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SRE + DBA to ensure plant stability and modernization across distributed database platforms. The role involves day-to-day database support, performance optimization, automation, and consultation for application development teams. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Greenplum, Postgres, performance tuning, automation, and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, optimize, and modernize mission-critical database environments (Postgres/Greenplum).
Provide consultation and support to application development teams on database design, implementation, and monitoring.
Manage database software installation, patch upgrades, and new setups while ensuring system stability.
Implement performance tuning, troubleshooting, query optimization, and disaster recovery solutions.
Automate operational tasks using Ansible, Shell, Perl, or Python scripting to enhance efficiency.
Provide 24×7 support, including rotational weekend on-call support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for high availability and geo-redundant database solutions.
Work with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) for database administration and migration initiatives.
Lead documentation, process improvement, and training for L1 and L2 teams globally.

Must-Have Skills

5-12 years of experience in Database Administration & Site Reliability Engineering.
Expertise in Greenplum (v5, v6+) and Postgres (v12+) database administration.
Hands-on experience with High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HADR) solutions.
Strong performance tuning, SQL optimization, and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in Linux/Unix OS fundamentals, kernel tuning, and security configurations.
Automation skills using Ansible, Shell, Perl, or Python scripting.
Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across teams.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Exposure to Snowflake & Data Warehousing Platforms.
Experience with Azure/AWS cloud-based database architectures.
Knowledge of Patroni, Golden Gate, or other clustering solutions for geo-redundancy.
Familiarity with Identity Management & Cloud Security Principles.
