What you’ll do
Key Responsibilities
Operational / Process Management
Oversee all branch-level operational functions: teller operations, cash handling, vault management, ATM operations (on-site/off-site), locker operations.
Manage account operations opening/closing accounts (including time deposits), premature closures, account documentation/KYC etc.
Ensure that transaction processes (NEFT, RTGS, other payments) are handled in compliance with bank policies. Monitor MIS & reporting: generate, validate, and submit operational reports on time; track exception reports, unresolved transactions, discrepancies.
Risk, Compliance & Controls
Ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines (banking regulations, AML/KYC, internal audits, etc.) Self-audit and perform internal checks to reduce errors, fraud, income leakage; follow up on outstanding items.
Enforce operational standards, policies, and procedures; ensure staff is aware of updates in policies.
Cost / Resource Management
Assist in budgeting / controlling branch expenses: vendor / AMC payments, lease deeds, ATM maintenance etc.
Optimize resource utilization — both human (staffing, scheduling) and physical (cash, stationery, security).
Customer Service & Quality
Ensure high level of customer satisfaction: timely resolution of customer complaints / queries.
Uphold service quality and turnaround times (TAT) for branch operations.
Support Business & Sales
Support branch growth by enabling crossselling of bank products through operations staff, referrals etc.
Assist the Branch Head / Sales team in campaigns, promotions from an operations perspective (making sure operational readiness).
Team Management
Manage operations staff: hiring, training, performance appraisal, motivation.
Ensure staff are aware of compliance, process changes, best practices.
